HI Everybody,

Last week we went to Grand Haven and stayed at a cottage. Well actually I didn't get to sleep over; apparently I am a bad sleeper and mommy and daddy thought others wouldn't appreciate my middle of the night wakings.

Check out some of the highlights.

Daddy was playing cards and I wanted to say Hi. I got super dirty so mommy had to give me a tubby in the sink. She was a bit nervous because there was a plug-in thing right by the sink. I guess I'm not supposed to touch those when I am wet. Good thing mommy was there to stop me.

After I got cleaned up we went on a walk to the ice cream place. I really liked mommy's mint flavor burst, but I didn't like the strawberry flavor burst. Daddy gave me a bit and I spit it out. I do like strawberry sometimes, but I just wanted to be like mommy.

We did a lot of playing at the beach. I got to swim out very very deep with Daddy. Plus my daddy is so cool because he dug all the way to China - 2 times!

Hi Everybody,

This is a special edition posting from me and mommy. Mommy's friend Ashley and her baby, Hailey, came to stay with us for a night. Check out the fun we had! Hailey and I bonded over brownie batter.

Here is what happened. Mommy put a spoon on the counter and turned her back for a half a second. I thought that meant she wanted me to use the spoon to eat the food. Isn't that what I do every time I eat? Well apparently that wasn't the case this time. Life is so hard to figure out sometimes. Mommy and Ashley didn't get upset though. I think it is because Hailey and I were so super cute.

I'm really glad we got all messy because then I got to have another tubby in the sink! I love it when I get to have a tubby in the sink.

Summer Fun

Hi Everybody,

I am really enjoying my summer. We have done lots of fun things. Now that I am almost a big girl I can do lots of things on my own.

My Grammy has fishy and I can clean out their water all by myself. The fishy are Dora and Boots. They like it when I feed them.

I really love playing in the sand at the beach. Daddy digs big holes for me and Caden.

We like to go on bike rides. I love to wear my helmet on and off my bike.

Mommy is finally letting me try to eat by myself. I understand her hesitation since I am rather messy about it. Here I am eating my oranges. Don't mind my hair. It usually looks cute, but I think mommy just needed to redo it.

I got a new slide. It is so fun. I can do it all by myself.

I have also liked swimming a lot. Mommy and Daddy say I am a water baby because I like to swim in the pool, the tubby, and the sink. Daddy did something really cool. He put the little pool in the big pool. I have such a cool Daddy. My great grandma blew some bubbles for me.

Well thats all for now. I am loving summer and being with mommy and daddy.

Summer Time!!

Hi Everybody,

I am so excited that it is summer time. Mommy, Daddy, and I have been doing lots of fun things.

Trying on the shades. Mommy says everyone needs to have sunglasses.

We have been going to lots of parks. I love to go down the slides.

Mommy and Daddy took me to get ice cream for the very first time. I really liked it, but I thought it would have been better if they let me get a Dora ice cream. (I'm kind of into Dora because I noticed that Caden likes Dora (as in Dora the Explorer) so if Caden likes her then she must be pretty cool.)

My Grammy and Papa went the Netherlands on a bike trip and they got me this super cute little t-shirt.

I love it when I get to play with Daddy. He is so much fun. I love him so much. I think I have the best Daddy in the world. Look at us playing on the bed.

Mommy, Daddy, and I have a new activity that we love to do together. We love biking. I have a special bike seat on Mommy's bike and a special froggy helmet in case we fall. I do wonder why I wear a helmet and Mommy doesn't. If I fall doesn't that mean that she fell? Maybe she has a harder head than I do. I think she should wear a helmet just to be a good example for me. Maybe Mommy could wear a Dora helmet. That would be cute.

Well I hope that you are all having a super fun summer. I can't wait to see what adventure we get to do as the summer goes on. I'm thinking the beach, the pool, and more ice cream.

Hi Everybody,

Can you believe it has been almost 4 months since I last checked in? I have been so busy growing up. I told mommy we have to do better keeping everyone up to speed with me.

Check out what I've been up to these past 4 months.

Helping Grammy and Papa.

Getting my beauty sleep.

Visiting lots of parks.

Learning how to plant flowers.

Building towers with Daddy.

Trying new foods.

So as you can see, I have been a very busy girl. I am walking all over the place. I can climb up onto chairs. I love to eat all kinds of food. My favorites are Ravioli, Mac and Cheese, Craisins, and of course cookies. I love to try new foods.
I am super excited because Mommy is done with school for the summer and now we get to hang out all the time. I hope we do lots of fun things like go to the parks, go swimming, and play outside.

I am going to make sure that mommy helps me keep this more updated.

I'm 1 Now!!!

Hi Everybody,

I know it has been a long time since I have put pictures up, but I have been so busy turning 1! As you probably know my birthday was February 10. I had a super fun birthday party. It even had a theme - pink and green polka dots. Check out the fun time I had.

Here I am with my special birthday cakes. One for me and one for everyone else.

Mommy made me a birthday cake with pink and green polka dots. I think I did what you are supposed to do when you turn the big 1. I ate the cake a made a mess!

After I ate my own special little cake (mommy tried to trick me by frosting it with Cool Whip. Does she think I wouldn't notice?) I hung out with Daddy and ate his strawberry ice cream (I'm 1 now, so I can have strawberry stuff)

I got a lot of fun presents. It was a little overwhelming so I decided to just take a moment and have some juice. (A side note about the juice - mommy calls it juice, but it is really just water. She thinks she is so tricky.)

This is me opening a present. I really only opened this one. Mommy and Caden helped me with the rest.

What a fun time I had! I can't believe just one year ago I was only 6 pounds and now I am 18 pounds. Stay tuned for some of my new 1 year old adventures!

It's A New Year!

Hi Everybody,

This is a year of lots of new things for me.

1. I am working on climbing the stairs.

2. I got to meet my cousin Ella who lives in Arizona.

3. I am working on feeding myself (mommy says its a work in progress)

4. I am trying new foods (mommy and daddy make me try all these crazy things. I mean seriously does ground up beans and turkey even sound yummy?)

5. I am making new friends. This is my friend Bennett; we hung out on New Year's Eve.

6. I can stand all by myself. Now I will be working on taking those first steps!

7. I am exploring my world! There is so much to see, touch, and put in my mouth :)

8. I am playing, playing, playing!

9. I am eating at restaurants.

10. I'm learning how to read (not really, but my mommy is a teacher and she thinks I'm advanced. I told her that I just look at the pictures and chew the book. She said that is okay and it is the first step in becoming a good reader.)

I'm looking forward to an exciting year. I will be 1 soon and I am sure there will be lots of new things for me to learn!

Holiday Catch-Up!

Hi Everyone,

We have been so busy these past few weeks that I haven't been able to keep you updated on what is going on.
I'll try to do a quick catch up.

We went to Chuck E. Cheese for Caden's 3rd Birthday! It was so much fun.

I did some holiday baking. Yum! Yum!

I had my first visit with Santa Clause and I tried a Candy Cane. Santa was nice and all, but I just wasn't ready for him. This picture is my best one. The other onces I am looking pretty scared.

I also had my very first Christmas. It was a great time. I got to see lots of family and open lots of presents.

This is me opening some presents. It was really hard so mommy and daddy had to pretty much do it for me.

Here I am on Sunday with Caden, Grammy, and Chelsea. If you notice Caden and I coordinate. Our mommies thought it would be cute.

I got to meet daddy's grandma - my great grandma - for the very first time. She is so nice.

Now I am playing with Daddy and Siaara. We are going to be good friends someday, I just know it. Siaara is already 1, but I am just a little bit behind her.

Well, I hope everyone had a great Christmas. I can't wait to see what the new year brings me. I'm thinking maybe some walking, a birthday, swimming, and some solid foods!

Getting in the Holiday Spirit!

Hi Everyone!

Christmas is coming and from what I hear it is sure to be a fun time. While I am waiting to see what it is all about my mommy has been doing some crazy things with me. Daddy said this is only the beginning and as I get older there will be more "fun" stuff to come. Here I am helping mommy decorate the Christmas tree. Caden helped us too. I was so excited to put up the tree that we started to do it before mommy went to work.

So mommy thought it would be fun to dress me up in this little outfit. I pretend not to like it, but deep down I really think I look cute :)

Oh, you won't believe what else we did. Mommy made me and daddy go to the Sinter Klaas parade. It was nothing special. Mommy will even admit that she missed Santa. I just put a smile on my face and made the best of it because I think thats what mommy wanted me to do.

Another thing we have been doing is a bit of Christmas shopping. Mommy said we buy presents for people that we love. Well, I told her that can't be true because I love so many people, but I just can't afford presents for all of them on my limited income. Mommy said she would take care of it and that they would understand. Here I am shopping at the mall. Erica held me which was really special and she did such a good job.

So how do you like my outfit? No, it isn't the same day. Mommy decided to put me in it again and take my picture with shiny red stuff. It was pretty fun playing with the red stuff.

I'm sure there will be lots more pictures of Christmas stuff to come. Mommy and Daddy did tell me that Christmas isn't all about presents. They said that the real reason we celebrate Christmas is because Jesus was born to save us all. I'm so glad that he loves me.

Mommy read me a good book called What Is Christmas? By Michelle Medlock Adams. It is about all the fun things at Christmas, but then it says the real reason for Christmas is Jesus! You should have your mommy or daddy read it to you if you are my age or a little older. If you are younger you might have a hard time paying attention. I mean, it was just the other day that I was able to listen to an entire book (and mommy doesn't read all the word, she is tricky like that) without trying to get out of mommy's lap.

Lovin' Life

Hi Everybody,

This week I had a lot of fun with a new friend. Mommy and Daddy watched Aidan while his mommy and daddy were at work. We had a lot of fun together.

We played in the crib.

I got to ride on his back.

We played catch.

Mommy let me try real food. She bought me those special baby puffs. They are super yummy. I got to try Apple Cinnamon first.

I was super happy because Mommy and Penelope (thats Aidan's mommy) wanted to make dinner together so we got to play again.

Well I guess that is all I have for the week. Thanksgiving is coming and I'm super excited. I went to the doctor today and she said that maybe I could try some turkey. I'm not sure mommy will let me, but here's hoping.

Oh, you might want to know how the doctor's appointment went. Well of course I'm healthy because it was just my 9 month check up. I love the 9 month check up because I didn't have to have any shots!!! I weight 16 pounds and I am 26 inches long. That means I'm kind of a small baby. I did have a little growth spurt though. I used to be so short that I didn't even make it onto the chart and now I am in the 25th percentile.

New Things for Me!

This has been a fun week for me. I got to watch a football game, play with lots of toys, visit a cousin, and just hang out with Mommy and Daddy. Mommy works less now so I get to see her a bit more. I love it!

We went to a football party at Mommy and Daddy's friend's house and we watched Michigan beat Michigan State!!

A bit of news. I am working on crawling. I can get up on my legs or my arms, but not both at the same time. I'm working on it though because I'm beginning to realize that there are lots of things I want to touch and play with. I realize that it took me a while to figure out rolling (even with mommy and daddy bribing me) and sitting up, but I really think that I can get this soon. Maybe even by Thanksgiving. Well... that might be wishful thinking, but Mommy said it is good to have goals. I'll keep you posted on how things are going.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!

This is just my during the day Halloween outfit. Auntie Erica bought it for me. It's not a mean witch though. She is really friendly. Do you know what her name is? Let me tell you. It is LuLu the Witch. I like her.

Wow! Let me tell you what. Halloween is so much fun. I get to wear a cute outfit and people give me candy, it can't get much better than this.

We got to visit Daddy at work. It was fun because all his work people gave me lots of candy. Mommy said I have to options:

1. Save it for 3 or 4 years until she says I can eat it.

2. Give it to her and Daddy.

I think I will just give it to Mommy and Daddy because from what I hear Halloween comes every year so I'm thinking I'll just get more next year.

We got to visit Aunt Lisa. She had so many trick-or-treaters that she ran out of candy. Mommy's cousin Parker was shooting marshmallows at people. I'm glad he didn't get me.

Great Grandma Rae and Great Grandpa Pete stopped by to give Caden and me a special Halloween treat. yum yum

A Little Catch Up

Well, it looks like my mommy hasn't been doing such a great job keeping on this. She has promised me that she is going to try harder.

I can sit in the cart all by myself!

Mommy, Daddy, and I went to Chicago last weekend. It was a lot of fun. We had a nice hotel, we went shopping, and we just hung out. I love being with Mommy and Daddy.

I took a tubby in the sink. I liked it because I got to play with a spoon and other fun kitchen toys. Isn't that cool that our hotel had a little kitchen?

We went shopping. I was pretty warm and cozy in my stroller. Sometimes Mommy says she wishes she could be pushed in a cozy stroller. This is what I say to her when she says that, "Come on, Mom. Be thankful that you have legs to walk on. If I could walk, I would." After I tell her that then she realizes how silly she is being. Anyway she would look so huge in a stroller. Crazy Mommy :P

Halloween is coming! I am so excited (at least that's what Mommy tells me). I had my pictures taken at Sears in my costume.

Happy Fall!!

Well, I didn't do much this week. I just sort of hung out with mommy and daddy. Mommy lost the camera for a short while so she wasn't taking pictures left and right as she usually does.

I will show you a super cute outfit I got in Chicago.

People tell Mommy that I am cute and it is sort of going to her head so she entered me in this contest that Gap is having. They are looking for a new baby model so I guess I am in the running now. If they choose me as a finalist you have to vote for me starting on November 20. That is forever away for me, but for you older people it is just around the corner. You can be sure that mommy will remind you to do it and how to do it. I mean, it would be kinda fun to be a Gap model. Mommy and I read that Suri Cruise is the newest Gap Model. Maybe we could be friends!

I really like it when mommy lets me play in the yard. I love being outside. They say that babies who are outside during the day for a bit will sleep better at night. It totally works for me. I don't know what we are going to do when it gets cold :(

Sometimes mommy takes a walk with her friend, Stephanie. I love it because I get to take a nice ride and check out the scenery. This is my new stroller. It is a baby jogger. I like it good enough even though it is a bit boyish. Mommy said that she would just put me in very girly colors when I was in it so people would know that I am a girl.

A Super Fun Week!

Hi Everyone,

I had a really fun week. For starters, I learned how to sit all by my self. I went to church last week and saw that all my friends were doing it on their on so I realized I had to step up my game and add another developmental milestone to my bag.
I like sitting all the time now. Mommy had to pull out some different toys for me to play with. I really like them because they are more fun than the toys I had because I could only suck on those.

Daddy put me in this box and pushed me around the house. It was super fun. I don't know why mommy and daddy keep buying me toys - all I need is a box!

This weekend Mommy, Grammy, Erica, Chelsea, and I went to Chicago for some shopping fun! It started out a bit boring so I took a little nap.

The car ride was really, really, really long so I had some fun pulling faces at Chelsea.

We went to eat at this really fun restaurant. It was like a rain forest inside.
I got to look at some pretty fishies.

The Great Outdoors

Hello it's me again!

Mommy, Daddy, and I had so much fun this past weekend. We went to the apple orchard with Adam and Kerry and then we went to Chuck E. Cheese.

Here I am with Mommy before picking apples. I'm so excited! Mommy bought me a special apple picking outfit with an apple on it and made a headband to match.

Well, it was quite a drive to the orchard and I fell asleep. I was so cozy in my car seat that I slept the whole time we were there. I told mommy that I was dreaming about apples though :o)

At Chuck E. Cheese I played a game with Mommy.

I rode the swing with Mommy.

I hung out with Daddy.

I rode the train with mommy.

Some other things going on in my life are:
1. I am becoming a more advanced sleeper. I used to sleep in a little crib in my crib, but as you can see I am out growing that. I have become quite the roller and it is hard to stay in one spot.

Now Mommy and Daddy said I could just sleep in the crib. I like it a lot because I can roll and mommy lets me play with toys in the morning.

This is how I like to sleep now that I have free reign of the crib.

2. I am become a bit of a fashionista. Mommy bought me a bunch of new fall clothes. Don't you think I'm stylin' in my jean jacket. Mommy said it is a must for every girl's wardrobe.

You can think of me this week as I work really hard on becoming a sitter. I have the basic idea, but I'm still a bit wobbly. I think with a bit more practice I will be able to do it soon.

Oops We Missed A Week

Hi Everyone,

Well it has been awhile because mommy forgot to do this for me last week. I guess she was a little busy with work and everything.
I did some fun things and some not so fun things these past couple of weeks.

On Labor Day we went out for breakfast with Great Grandma and Grandpa. It was fun. I like it when Grandpa Pete holds me. Mommy says he has a good book called the Moon Man. I hope he reads it to me soon.

Mommy has been taking me for some lovely evening strolls, but now it has suddenly turned cold and dark so I guess those days are over. I like it when my dolly gets to go with me.

A big bummer for me was that I got sick. I had a fever and I was throwing up a bit. Mommy called the doctor and he said I had the flu. Daddy put a cool cloth on my head to help cool me down. It felt really good.

Well football season is in full swing. I don't have a Lions outfit yet, but I bet I will get one. Mommy and Daddy both have outfits that they wear. So far the Lions are 2-0! Super Bowl here we come!

Some of my favorite things are:
1. When Daddy blows air in my face

2. When I hug Mommy and kiss her

3. When Daddy lifts me high in the sky

I am 7 months old now. I can't believe how time flies. Pretty soon I will be all grown up. Mommy doesn't like it when I say that because she wants me to stay little (but sometimes she wants me to be big - silly mommy)

What a Fun Week!

This week mommy and I had so much fun. We went downtown one morning and did lots of fun things.

I'm ready to go!

I read a book.

I saw a bunny.

I played with the Teddy Bear.

Mr. Rooster got me.

I saw some candy that I really really wanted, but mommy said no even though I gave her my super cute smiley face.

This week we also went to a wedding. One of Daddy's best friends got married. It was a pretty good time even though we were out past my bed time. I guess every now and then it is okay.

Back To School

This is my last week with mommy before she has to go back to work. I'm sad because I won't get to see her all day, but it will be okay because she said she would buy me some new clothes for the fall! (I think she just said that to make me feel better because I'm pretty sure she would buy them for me anyway). I'm also excited because I get to hang out all day with Daddy. He is so fun because he makes me laugh so hard.

This week we didn't really do to much. We did have a church picnic. It was fun because mommy and daddy learned how to make balloon animals. All the kids thought it was so fun.

Here I am with Great Grandpa Pete. He was grillin up the dogs for everybody.

This picture is of me as Sporty Spice. Isn't it weird to see me in something other than a dress? It was so gloomy and rainy so mommy decided to put me in some comfy clothes.

Here is some exciting news! I finally figured out how to roll over. I'm pretty good at it now.

Here I am again.

Guess what! I have a tooth. It came through and now I am feeling so much better. I was a bit fussy and mommy didn't know why, but when the tooth came through she figured it out. I wish I could show you a picture, but I don't have a close up of my mouth.

A few things I have really taken a liking to are:
1. Flying with daddy

2. Playing in the exosaucer

3. Kicking my legs all over the place

This weekend Mommy, Daddy, and I went on a picnic in South Haven. It wasn't quite what we expected and I was actually pretty bored the whole time. Here I am sleeping through the whole drive there, picnic, and drive home.

I would like to say hi to Daddy's cousin Kathryn. I know we never met, but from what Mommy says you are really nice and pretty and have super cute clothes. I can't wait to see you at Thanksgiving.

Hi Everybody,
This past week was spent with the Bock family in Grand Haven. I think that at the most there were 20 people at the cottage. It was such a fun time. I didn't really do much though for a couple of reasons:
1. I'm a baby and I don't do much normally
2. It's all about the beach and my mommy doesn't really like to get burnt and I guess she said something about my skin being to sensitive to sit in the sun all day 3. My daddy works at night so we didn't go up until later in the afternoon when everyone was coming back
So here is what I did do - ate, slept, went for walks, and playing.

This week I got new shoes. See, my feet curve in so now I have to wear these shoes that look like they are on backwards. My mommy had to wear shoes like that too.

I had my 6 month pictures taken this week. I did so good - I smiled for every single picture that the nice girl took of me.

I am currently working on a couple of skills: consistent rolling and sitting up. Mommy and daddy said when I roll then I can get a new stuffed animal since I don't really have one to call my very own.

I love my mommy so much that I help her whenever possible. This week I helped her with the groceries. First we picked out everything and then I helped her get them in the house.

Since mommy and I will be posting more often now I will end now. Just quick check me out sleeping like an angel. (what actually happened was that mommy took way to long getting ready one morning and I just had to take a little snoozer)

Hello Everybody,

Well I am almost 6 months old and my mom decided it was time to let everybody watch me grow. My cousins have blogs and I said, "Mommy I really need to have a blog too or else they won't know me when we get together." She said I could have one so here it is. Enjoy and leave me lots of messages.
We are going to put a few pictures on here so you can see what's going on in my life. My mommy takes like a million pictures of me so hopefully you like to look at pictures. These are just a few to catch you up, but I will make sure that we keep this updated regularly.

Here we are picking blueberries. I'm not really a fan as you can see, but Grammy dragged us out there because she looooves picking with GAL (Great Aunt Lisa). She said someday I will love to pick. We'll see about that...

Now this is pretty funny. You see, my mommy loves to go to garage sales and buy me lots of toys. Well, she found this baby doll bed with a canopy and I guess she thinks I am a doll because the next thing I know I am in the bed.

Chillin' with my Daddy. I think I have the coolest daddy around. He bounces me on the ball (thanks Aunt Linda for the great idea), he pushes me in the stroller, and he tells me he loves me everyday.

Here I am in my very pretty princess dress. I had to take a quick nap before church. Mommy says I look like a sleeping angel. By the time church was done I was about ready to change my clothes. That is a lot of dress to handle for a little girl like me.

This is my cousin Caden. He really likes to play with me and he always gets toys, blankets, and anything I need for me. My daddy said that I can't kiss boys for a very long time, but he said he would make an exception for Caden. We love each other!

Grandpa is teaching me that I have feet at the bottom of my body. I had no idea they were down there. It is a bit of a struggle to reach them, but with Grandpa's help I can do it!

I know there were a lot of pictures, but really you are only 5 months once. We will try to update more frequently with only a couple pictures highlighting the week. Mommy's cousin Heidi does it every Wednesday night. I hope my mommy is able to do it at a set time.
